The blessing over the bread

Uncover the challah and say “Ahh!”  (our tradition Smile), and then continue with the blessing:

Challah

Baruch atah Adonai, Eloheinu melech ha-olam, hamotzi lechem min ha-aretz.

Blessed are you, LORD, our God, King of the Universe, who brings forth bread from the earth.

Eat the challah….

We sometimes use the campstyle version:

Hamotzi lechem min haaretz,

We give thanks to God for bread.

Our voices rise in song together as our joyful prayer is said,

“Baruch atah adonai, eloheinu melech haolam, hamotzi lechem min haaretz. Amen.”
